What’s new on SuperBru in 2015

2015 is here, and it is set to be a huge year for sport across the globe – and for us here at SuperBru. With that in mind, here is a run down of lots of lovely new and improved bits and bobs that you can look forward to this year:

The General’s Club
An exclusive club for the biggest SuperBru fans, in which you can test yourself against the General in all major tournaments, get access to special news and features before everyone else and preview beta tournaments early.

wooden spoonThe Wooden Spoon

A kind of reverse-Yellow-Cap, the worst performing player from a round in each pool will have a wooden spoon icon next to his or her name on the leaderboards. The ignominy!

N.B. wooden spoons will not be available in the SuperBru store, but can be purchased from all good kitchenware retailers.

Provisional picks

stressThis feature allows you to make your picks initially, but with the option of being able to change them right up until kick-off – perfect for if you’re busy and need to make picks in a rush, but hope you might have time to change them later.

You can come back and choose to lock in your picks – only then will you be able to see what other people in your pools have picked. If you don’t have time to do so, your provisional picks will carry through.

Plans are afoot to bring tennis to SuperBru in 2015, a development we’re all hugely excited about here at HQ. We’ve run a few rudimentary beta tournaments in the office and once the scoring model/season length has been finalised, we’ll be releasing it to you.

- Better pool management features for pool captains
- Fantasy Lite tournaments for every major tournament we run (starting with Super Rugby, 6 Nations and the Cricket World Cup)
- Improved views of key player statistics such as number of caps, tournaments played, honours etc.

Happy Bru Year to you all, and good luck with all your picks for 2015!

  1. Please consider the option of being able to sort invites per tournament. It helps when several tournaments start closely.

    Keep up the great work

    Kind regards

  2. To think superbru originated with pen and paper.
You guys came along way. Superbru is only getting bigger and better. Thanks for all the hard work that all of you at the HQ does for all us sport freaks.

  3. you guys are amazing, keep entertaining us we will keep those predictions coming.Keep the good work up there at HQ

  4. Just out of curiosity, what are the guidelines/prerequisites for being invited to the General’s club?

  5. Great stuff guys. Thanx for the best hobby ever. Like my club motto states : ” No matter what , how , when or where , we will Superbru “

  6. I’m loving the changes and I love the Fantasy Lite tournaments.

One thing though will the Provisional Picks see an end to some people being credited with points even though they didn’t make picks. I’ve always found this to be unfair.

  7. Thank you for all the hard work SuperBru. What will be the format for the Golf in 2015? I hope it will be the same as the recent Nedbank Golf Challenge. Maybe appoint a South African distributor of the real Yellow Cap (Kalahari/Takealot). As stated earlier SuperBru turned the love for sport into a new hobby. Happy New Year.
