The finale to the Ryder Cup at Medinah on Sunday couldn’t have been much more exciting, but for Colin Mackay – winner of our SuperBru competition – it was that bit more special.
Europe’s dramatic comeback from 10-6 down going into the final day of singles matches won Colin some merchandise from the SuperBru Store, and the enviable title of Champion of SuperBru’s first ever golf competition.
Whilst Martin Kaymer’s 5-foot putt on the 18th won his match and secured the 14 points required to retain the Ryder Cup, it was Tiger Woods’ missed putt on the same hole that clinched it for Colin, a long-time Bru from Bedfordshire, England. Woods’ miss and subsequent concession of the hole made Europe the outright winners by 1 point.
Ian Poulter was the top point-scorer overall, winning a total of 4 points for Europe, and it was his victory with Rory McIlroy over Jason Dufner and Zach Johnson on Saturday afternoon that sparked the Europeans into life.
Thanks for taking part in the competition. We’ll collate the results and gauge the level of interest in golf on SuperBru, and keep you posted on our plans.
The SuperBru store will soon be available in all regions and you’ll be able to get hold of a Yellow Cap whether you’re in England, New Zealand or Canada!
